Piñatex Original

Piñatex is a vegan surface material produced by the company Ananas Anam. It consists of pineapple leaf fibers which are dewatered and processed to a fluff, which is then further processed to a non-woven fleece. In this process leaves from the pineapple harvest are used, which makes piñatex a sustainable and environmentally friendly product.

The pineapple leaves used come from pineapple cultivation in the Philippines, the fleece itself is produced in Spain.

Piñatex is characterized by its versatility: the material is light but durable and is suitable for use as upholstery material in interior decoration as well as for jackets, bags and other products in the fashion sector. It can be easily sewn, embroidered or embossed and is also easy to cut.
